Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home makes available
several "green" burial options and is one of a select group of
funeral providers approved by the Green Burial Council. With
Green Burials formaldehyde-based embalming is prohibited as is the
use of metal or concrete grave-liners, burial-vaults, or other
permanent burial containers. Caskets, coffins or alternative
containers used are made of bio-degradable materials and are
available in a range of prices. With Green Burials, home
wakes, public visitations, church funerals and graveside services
are options that may be arranged within the time frame green
burials allows.
Green burial is a way of caring for the deceased with minimal
environmental impact that furthers legitimate ecological aims such
as the conservation of natural resources, reduction of carbon
emissions, protection of worker health, and the restoration and/or
preservation of habitat.
Green burial practices may involve the use of formaldehyde free
fluids for temporary sanitation and preservation, as well as the
use of caskets, urns, and/or burial shrouds that are constructed of
a non-toxic, biodegradable material.
Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home is proud to offer a
selection of services and merchandise to fit the needs of families
wishing to honor their loved ones with a green burial.
